Since the onset of COVID-19, most live poker events were canceled or postponed. For operators like PokerStars, many major events were shut down, much to the dismay of players. Thankfully, operators like PokerStars have been able to use their online poker platforms to host big events online that would normally take place in a live setting. Players have been anxiously awaiting any news regarding the European Poker Tour and PokerStars just revealed the EPT is back in action this November, though in an online setting.
20 Total Events
The EPT Online will run at PokerStars from November 8-18. There will be 20 events on the schedule and a total of $20 million in prize money up for grabs. The series will include the EPT Online and the Mini EPT Online. The standard version will offer buy-ins on the higher end, starting at $215 and going as high as $25,000. For the Mini version, buy-ins start at a much lower $2.20.
The most anticipated event on the schedule will of course be the Main Event. The tournament will start on November 15 and will take place over four days. There will be a single starting flight and players will be allowed up to two reentries. The buy-in to this event is $5,200. A total of $5 million will be up for grabs.
Players can take part in satellites to earn a seat to the Main Event, with options already running at the online poker site. There are four satellite types that offer at least three seats to the next satellite to move up to the last one, the $530 satellite, to try and win tickets.
Buy-ins start at $5.50 and then move up to the $11, $55 and $109 events. Players can start on any level to try and work their way up to the $530. In this satellite, there will be two tickets provided to the Main Event.
Big Prize Pool Events
There are several notable events on the EPT Online schedule. The first event on November 8 is the EPT Online 01, Arena Championship. This tournament has a buy-in of $1,050 and will be an 8-MAX NLHE Event. The prize pool guarantee is $1,500,000.
On November 10, the series will offer a High Roller event in the same 8-MAX NLHE format. The buy-in will be $10,300 and $1 million in total prize money will be up for grabs. On November 12, the Super High Roller event is scheduled, featuring a $25,000 buy-in and $2 million in prize money.
These are the big events on the schedule. The remaining tournaments have prize pools ranging from $200,000 to $500,000. Buy-in to the scheduled events straight from the PokerStars platform in November.
For players on a smaller budget, the MINI version will run during the same time frame. Prize pools will range from $50,000 to $500,000, with buy-ins no higher than $215. The largest event on the schedule is the mini high roller which has a $109 buy-in and a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
