Over the past few months, online poker players have been able to access a ton of content due to platforms offering more, be it cash games, tournaments or special events. Once the coronavirus pandemic hit the US, online poker rooms saw more traffic, which led to more events being offered. With land-based events shut down due to the virus, it also led to some operators taking their land-based tournaments to the online sector. WSOP has been a huge supporter of online poker content, offering players a ton of action over the past few months. Now, the brand has announced not one but two additional series for players in the US.
Online Circuit and PLO Mania
From October 15-27, players can compete in the Online Circuit series. There will be over $1.1 million in guaranteed prize money within this series. Alongside this series, players can take part in PLO Mania, which offers an additional $300,000 in guaranteed prize money. This series is the first to feature Omaha as its exclusive variant via an online series by WSOP.
The series will run at the same time and offer one event each day. Players from Delaware, New Jersey and Nevada can take part in both options. However, players in Delaware cannot win the Global Casino Championship prize or compete for the GGC leaderboard. If a player from Delaware wins a Ring event, the seat to the GGC will go to the highest finishing player from Nevada or New Jersey.
Ring Tournament Action
The fall edition of the WSOP Circuit Online series will offer 13 ring events. Buy-ins will range from $215 to $1,000. The prize pools will range from $40,000 to $250,000. Formats will include Turbos, PLO, Knockout, Double & Monster Stacks plus 6-Max events.
The Main Event of this series will offer a $200,000 prize pool and will have a buy-in of $525. Players can re-enter this event three times. This tournament takes place on October 25. Before the Main Event takes place, there will be a satellite on offer, guaranteeing 20 seats to the big event.
For each winner of the Circuit events, a gold ring will be provided along with prize money. Each of the Circuit events also count towards the overall WSOP Circuit Leaderboard.
PLO Mania
If you are a fan of Omaha, then the WSOP/888 Network is offering up a special series. The PLO Mania series will feature $300,000 in total prize money spread across 13 events. The buy-ins for this series are a little more affordable than the Circuit, starting at just $50. The Main Event of this series has a buy-in of $525 and features $75,000 in guaranteed prize money.
The series will include a deepstack, turbos, a re-buy and knockout. These events will be played in 8-max or 6-max formats. Some of the events on the schedule will be played in freezeout. Unfortunately for mobile fans, the software of PokerStars does have some limitations so the PLO events cannot be played on a mobile device.
