The Winning Poker Network´s High Five series is being extended from five days to twenty days and will run from Tuesday September 10th to Sunday September 29th.
The Winning Poker Network has just finished an extraordinarily successful OSS Cub3d series, which started with the $5 million Venom and concluded with two Million Dollar Sunday events that smashed their guarantees out of the park. Consequently, it makes sense to schedule another tournament series as soon as possible in order to capitalize on the Network´s popularity.
A “standard” High Five series probably wouldn´t have fitted the bill because the traditional format of the series is five tournaments added to the schedule for five consecutive days. The Network is aware it has plenty of popularity right now to leverage into a bigger series, so has extended the length of the High Five series from five days to twenty days and added one hundred tournaments to the schedule.
$5 Million Guaranteed during High Five Series
The extended High Five series gets underway on Tuesday September 10th; and, over the next twenty days, more than $5 million will be up for grabs in guaranteed prize pools in addition to the $3.8 million per week guaranteed in the regular tournament schedule. Most of the events in the High Five series will be versions of NL Hold´em, but there a couple of Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo tournaments as well.
As usual, the series has 4:20 theme in recognition of players who like to smoke more than just the opposition. The opening event has a buy-in of $4.20, the three Main Events (on Sundays 15th, 22nd, and 29th) each have guaranteed prize pools of $420,000, and there will be a ten minute courtesy break at 4:20pm (ET) each day during the series for players “who want to take a little fresh air”.
In addition to the three Main Events each Sunday, a further ten tournaments during the series have guaranteed prize pools of $100,000 or more. Three of them (plus a Main Event) are scheduled for the final day of the series on September 29th; and, when these are added to the regular Sunday afternoon feature events, the schedule for that day looks very impressive indeed:

Steps Program Already Underway for Next Venom
I started this article by mentioning last month´s $5 million Venom event, so it´s only fitting I end it on the same theme. The next Venom event will take place at the end of November, with opening flights carrying on into the first week of December. Due to the success of the previous event, the guarantee has been increased to $6 million, and satellites feeding into it are running every Sunday afternoon.
Also feeding into the Venom is the incredibly popular Steps promotion. This promotion starts at freeroll level, with the free-to-enter Step 1 tournaments running around the clock every two hours. Fifty seats into Step 2 are awarded in every freeroll, so not only are the Step 1 tournaments very popular, they also ensure a regular flow of action further up the Steps promotion.
If you would like to win a seat for free in November´s multi-million dollar tournament, there are only ninety-nine days left in which to do so before the target event gets underway. Therefore head over to Americas Cardroom or Black Chip Poker today and take your first steps on the path to Venom glory – enjoying a hundred High Five tournaments on the way.
