Last night saw the first satellites running for Ignition Poker´s Black Diamond Poker Open; but although the series is not due to start in earnest until March 3rd, there is a good reason to visit the satellite lobby soon, as special Sunday 100K and High Rollers events have been scheduled for this coming weekend.
March is going to be a very busy month for players on USA-friendly poker sites. The Winning Poker Network´s [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/120-reasons-play-winning-poker-networks-oss-cub3d/”]OSS Cub3d series[/geolink] gets underway this coming Sunday, Ignition Poker´s Black Diamond Poker Open starts on March 3rd, and BetOnline Poker´s [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/qualify-now-betonline-pokers-gops-main-event/”]Global Online Poker Series (GOPS)[/geolink] runs from March 11th to 18th – during which time all three series will be running simultaneously.
The series of choice for many players will likely be Ignition Poker´s Black Diamond Poker Open. Although not having the magnificent guaranteed prize pools of OSS Cub3d, the events scheduled for the Black Diamond Poker Open do not have the extended late registration periods of the Winning Poker Network´s tournaments, nor are reliant on re-entries and re-buys as they are at BetOnline.
Black Diamond Poker Open Schedule Released
The start of the satellites coincided with the release of the Black Diamond Poker Open schedule. The series will consist of ninety-four “BDPO Seventh Anniversary” events, plus special Sunday 100K and High Rollers events between February 25th (this coming weekend) and March 25th. In total the 2018 Black Diamond Poker Open is guaranteed for more than $10 million.
As usual, the series is dominated by NL Hold´em tournaments, but there is enough Omaha action to keep fans of the four-card game happy. There are also a couple of 7 Card Stud and Stud Hi/Lo tournaments included in the schedule – including an intriguing Stud Super Knockout event scheduled for Wednesday March 21st. Other highlights include:
- Sunday March 4th – #7 is a “High Roller” event guaranteed for $77,000 with a buy-in of just $55.00.
- Thursday March 8th – #21 is a PL Omaha Hi/Lo event with a big guarantee ($30,000) for a midweek event.
- Wednesday March 14th – #42 is a 6-Max NLHE tournament with a nice guarantee ($10,000) for its modest buy-in.
- Thursday March 22nd – #72 is a PL Omaha Heads-Up event (the equivalent NLHE Heads-Up event takes place on Sunday March 11th).
- Sunday March 25th – #80 is the $82 buy-in Mini Main Event guaranteed for $75,000, and two hours later the $450 buy-in Main Event (#81) gets underway, guaranteed for $300,000.
The full schedule for the Black Diamond Poker Open can be found on the Ignition Poker website and the satellites feeding into each event are live in the poker software. Please be careful about which satellites you enter. Players can only win one entry to a single event, and additional entries will be forfeited. There is no option to use BDPO entries for other Ignition Poker tournaments or exchange them for cash.
