The Winning Poker Network has set alight Saturday afternoons with a series of six new poker tournaments offering combined guarantees of $33,000.
If you have been playing on sites affiliated to the Winning Poker Network over the past few months, you shouldn´t have had many grumbles about the opportunities available to win a major cash prize. January´s $420,000 High Five Series preceded February´s $150,000 Freebuy Series and complimented the weekly $115,000 guaranteed Sunday Special – the most valuable online poker tournament offered by any of the USA Friendly Poker Sites.
Next month sees the return of the Online Super Series – featuring a $1 million guaranteed Million Dollar Sunday on April 24 – and the network has just reintroduced the “World Series of Jackpots” to qualify as many players as possible into the WSOP Main Event for as little as $3.00 (more about the “World Series of Jackpots” below).
If there was any reason to grumble, it could have been about the tournament schedule for Saturday afternoons – which, although well populated, offered little in the way of events with guaranteed prize pools for low buy-ins. That´s all about to change, with the introduction of the Saturday Six Pack – a series of six NL Hold´em tournaments with guarantees totaling $33,000 and buy-ins starting at just $5.50.
The Saturday Six Pack Schedule
The Saturday Six Pack Schedule has been carefully constructed to allow as many players as possible to get involved in the action. The first of the six events – a $33.00 buy-in, $20,000 guaranteed tournament – has five hours of late registration, meaning that players will still be able to enter as late registration for the last of the six events closes. Reaction to the new tournaments has been mostly positive, with feedback on the 2+2 poker forum suggesting that an “Eight Pack” or “Ten Pack” would not be amiss. The World Series of Jackpots is Back
The Winning Poker Network has also reintroduced its World Series of Jackpots promotion – a special three-handed hyper-turbo Sit & Go that gives players the opportunity to win a $12,500 package to the WSOP Main Event for just $3.00. Like last year´s promotion – which gave away dozens of packages to the WSOP – there are four prize levels that can be awarded at random when three players have registered to play in each World Series of Jackpot hyper-turbo games:
- In games with a $6.00 prize (2x the buy-in), the winner takes all.
- In games with an $18.00 prize (6x the buy-in), all three players collect $6.00.
- In games with a $27.00 prize (9x the buy-in), all three win $9.00.
- In games with a $37,500 prize, all three players win a $12,500 package to the WSOP Main Event.
The Winning Poker network has produced a frequency chart for the anticipated number of times the jackpot will be won. Although the jackpot is only likely to hit six in every 100,000 games, the reward compared to the buy-in is fantastic. Don’t forget, players also have the opportunity to double their buy-ins (once in each hundred games), or treble their buy-ins (once in each 233 games) just for sitting down to play a Sit & Go WSOP Jackpot game.
