The Winning Poker Network has released preliminary details about its third Freebuy Super Series from Friday February 26th to Sunday March 6th.
The Winning Poker Network´s Freebuy tournaments are similar to freeroll tournaments inasmuch as they cost nothing to enter but have a guaranteed prize pool. Players start with 1,000 chips and for the first two hours have the option of purchasing a 2,500 chip addition to their stack. Three hours into the event, a paid add-on of 10,000 chips is available.
The opportunity to win substantial amounts of money without the risk of loss means that Freebuy tournaments are always well supported. 6,594 players competed in the Main Event of the last Freebuy Super Series in September 2015. However, due to many players not taking advantage of the in-play purchases, the tournament failed to meet its $20,000 guarantee by $11,620!
Another $150,000 Up for Grabs – for Free
The whole of Freebuy Super Series II cost the Winning Poker Network more than $70,000 in missed guarantees. Despite this, the decision has been made to run the series again from Friday February 26th to Sunday 6th March. Full details of the series are yet to be announced, but the network has confirmed that the total value of the guaranteed prize pools for the ten-day Freebuy jamboree will once again be $150,000.
In addition to the Freebuy tournaments, there will also be a leaderboard competition supporting the series. The leaderboard competition was also hotly contested during the last series – until “TeXaSRoKsTaR” final-tabled three events out of six over the final weekend to take down the first prize of $3,000 in cash and tournament entry tickets.
Announcing the dates for the Freebuy Super Series III, the Winning Poker Network´s spokesman – Michael Harris – said:
We’re only a little into the New Year and things couldn’t be better with a High Five Tournament Series last month and now bringing back the Freebuy Super Series. The opportunity to win part of $150,000 in guaranteed prize money with no risk is hard to pass up, so we expect a huge turnout.
Where to Play the Freebuy Super Series III
The Freebuy Super Series II will be played across all the sites affiliated to the Winning Poker Network including Americas Cardroom, Black Chip Poker and True Poker. Currently all three sites are offering a first deposit bonus up to $1,000 and have similar reward programs that distribute player points using the dealt rake method rather than the contributed rake method.
All three sites also have access to “The Beast” – a non-contributory rake race that is currently paying out almost $100,000 each week in cash prizes and tournament entry tickets. Last week 196 players shared in the cash prize pool of $71,912, while 326 players won a seat in a $50.00 buy-in satellite to next week´s $1,000 buy-in Cage event.
What Else is Happening at the Winning Poker Network
The Winning Poker Network has enjoyed a huge jump in traffic in recent months, enabling it to maintain the $115,000 guarantee of its feature weekend tournament – “The Sunday Special” – and introduce a new “PLO Sunday Special”. The guarantee for the PLO Sunday Special started off at $25,000 and increases by $2,000 every time the guarantee is met. Yesterday´s event was played for an incredible $37,000.
As mentioned above, the “Cage” has also enjoyed a popular return – the Cage being a five-hour cash game with a $1,000 buy-in that has increasing blinds every hour. Thirty-two players put their chips on the table last week – with just ten emerging successfully – and the next nosebleed stakes game is scheduled for this coming Wednesday at 7:00pm (ET).
