Poker fans wanting some entertainment with exchanging cards can find some fun with Mystery Wheelbarrow. This game does not really have a distant cousin or similar game to point to, but the rules and gameplay are easy to pick up.
Quick Tips For Mystery Wheelbarrow Poker
When playing this game, you can stay a step ahead when you have some tips that you have already practiced. The key word there is practice, so you definitely need to be good at what you are doing if you want a strategy to work.
With that being said, there are some simple tips that would benefit anyone. These would include having an understanding of the game, the best hands to make, and knowing how much money you have to bet.
Knowing The Rules
This game is best played with a minimum of four players but can have a few more. The game uses a standard deck of 52 cards.
Players in the game will first ante up. After the initial ante, the dealer will hand out three cards face down to everyone. Players can look at their hands, but must not show anyone else.
After the deal, there is an optional betting round. Next, the dealer will place five cards face up in the middle of the table in the shape of a pentagon, and then one card will be placed face down in the middle of those five cards.
This should form the “wheelbarrow” where players will be using these cards. Starting to the left of the dealer, the player will have the option to swap out one of their cards from one on the table.
If a player does not want to swap, they can pass on a turn. However, players can only swap for two turns, one card at a time, before the game goes to showdown.
If a player wants to swap with the face-down card, there are two options that they can do in that situation:
Swap out the face-down card, and then the player will put their card face down where that one was.
Player chooses to look at the face-down card but decides to put it back face down because they did not want it. Their turn is now over.
Once everyone has had the option to exchange two cards, whether they did or not, the game will go to the final betting round and then the showdown. The player with the best five-card hand wins.
It is also very important to note that to win, a player must use all three of their dealt cards in addition to two out of the six cards on the table to make a winning hand. So whatever is in your hand should be the bulk of your hand strength.
Best Hands To Play
This game uses standard hand card rankings. Players should look to see what is best available in front of them to see what the best hand possible to make.
Pairs and three of a kind are somewhat on the weaker side of things if in competition with multiple players. Full houses and flushes would be excellent opportunities to win the pot and are very doable in this game.
Watching Your Bankroll
This game could either have a betting limit or bets between each hand. This would need to be determined before any playing begins.
Depending on what the betting style is, you should definitely consider how each one would affect your amount of bets. So you need to set a budget or make sure you have a set amount of money that you only are comfortable losing.
